Alpheus Tray
Named after Alpheus—the river god from classical lore whose fierce devotion drove him to carve his waters beneath the ocean floor just to surface and mingle with his beloved nymph Arethusa—this tray is an ode to deep, enduring currents and fluid grace.
Slow-made and high-fired in our South Australian studio, the Alpheus Tray features a heavily textured, rippled surface that captures the visual movement of sand beneath moving water. Perfectly suited for multiple uses around the home: use it as a resting dish for your daily jewelry, an arresting incense tray, or a unique catch-all that brings the quiet, tactile beauty of the earth into your space. Because every piece is handmade, each rippled tray carries its own distinct character and glaze variations.
